Lecture Historian Jon Tan Tuesday 4th August at 2pm
Jon Tan, author of ‘Aces, Airmen and the Biggin Hill Wing 1941-42, takes a look at RAF Biggin Hill’s post-Battle of Britain operations, reflecting on the qualities that lie at the heart of Biggin Hill’s position as a front-line fighter station. Drawing on the memoirs of his grandfather, Raymond Davies and those aircrew with whom he worked, Jon Tan provides an insight into the human experience of life at Biggin Hill during this period, reaching beyond the descriptive facts to tell the story of a community at war.
