February Half Term Events 2021: Children at War
Join in the fun at Biggin Hill Memorial Museum this February Half Term with a week-long programme of events and activities centred around the theme of ‘Children at War’. Find out what it was like for children living under the shadow of the Second World War through our drama performances and exhibits then take part in our make-and-take craft sessions to create objects that would have been well-known to youngsters living in the 1940s.
Watch out too for the launch for our new Family Activity Log Book – complete all six activities in the book to earn a prize. There’s also Fancy Dress Friday on Friday 19th February with further prizes for children (and adults) who come dressed up in 1940s-themed outfits.
With a different activity every day, there’s something for everyone. We look forward to welcoming you,
Saturday 13th February – 1940s Housewife performance plus 1940s-style games.
Sunday 14th February – Craft activity: Make-do-and-mend Valentine’s Cards.
Tuesday 16th February – Craft activity: Make your own gas mask box.
Wednesday 17th February – Craft activity: Make your own evacuees’ suitcase.
