About this objectFlight Sergeant Edmund George Hunt was a bomb disposal officer at Biggin Hill during the Battle of Britain. He was awarded the George Medal for defusing six unexploded bombs during this period. He was killed on 7th October 1940 while attempting to defuse a bomb that had been fitted with one of the earliest anti-interference devices.
In September 1980 RAF Biggin Hill gathered together a collection of photographs from museums, commercial and private individuals to mount an exhibition to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain. The collection was passed on to Bob Ogley when the RAF withdrew from Biggin Hill.
