Pilots photographed at Acklington prior to moving to Biggin Hill.Those identified are: Sergeant Henry Pocock sitting on the propeller boss, left of the dog is Flying Officer R Deacon Elliot, Commander of 'A' Flight, and to the right of the dog Pilot Officer Basil Douthwaite. Deacon Elliot was to become the first Commandant of Biggin Hill OASC in 1962.
In September 1980 RAF Biggin Hill gathered together a collection of photographs from museums, commercial and private individuals to mount an exhibition to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain. The collection was passed on to Bob Ogley when the RAF withdrew from Biggin Hill.
